On insurance claims we take the hassle out of getting your vehicle repaired. We work for you, not the insurance company. Claims with classic cars can be complicated.
After you have reported the accident and obtained a claim number, we take it from there. The insurance company will send you the first payment for repairs hoping you will take the money and run. The first estimate they make from photos never covers all the damage, so of course the check will not cover all the repairs. We have to send supplements for additional damage which slows down the repair process. If you bring in your car and let us submit the initial claim it speeds up the process.
Insurance companies are required to respond to us in 3 working days. You as a customer verses a body shop may not get a quick response. Some insurance companies try to steer you to the body shops they have under contract, by law this is illegal. You can take your vehicle to any shop you choose. The shops that are contracted with the insurance companies work for the insurance companies not for you. They will use inferior parts per contract requirements. We will not use cheap aftermarket parts that won’t fit correctly.
Your insurance is required to return your car to pre-accident conditions. We make sure they do.
Classic cars are a whole different situation, as we may not be able to “purchase” replacement parts and we have to make the parts we need. Most insurance will not even do an initial estimate and will wait for our estimate as they have no way to know the costs involved until we view your vehicle. The photo of the Mustang Cobra for instance shows a rear bumper we had to rebuild as there were no replacements
